The increase in licensed retail premises in this area over the past ten years has become a matter of major local concern. The Council is constrained by the fact that applications for licenses cannot be unreasonably denied, but does at last seem to recognise that Brunswick has become a special case and is reviewing an extension of the central control zone, in which there is a ban on any further licenses.
