Overflowing rubbish bins

An all too familiar sight at the top of the Square. We have twice now requested a second bin at this location but on both occasions been told that the problem is residents in the Square using the bin when they voted to retain the doorstep collection rather than have bins in the garden squares. One of the reasons for resistence to the bins in the squares was the possibility of rubbish building up around them, which we were assured would not happen. The Council would ideally like all rubbish to be collected from these bins using their automated trucks, but as long as overflowing continues the likelihood is that residents will continue to dislike them.
