At last some good news to report – Two important FOPA campaigns have reached successful conclusions:
The large Palmeira Garden Elm tree which had become a health and safety hazard to walkers and adjacent properties and about which we had been pressing the Council for nearly 2 years was, at last, extensively pollarded in late November , reducing it to one-third of its height.
The Council has responded to the vigorous campaign by FOPA and many residents, objecting strongly to the October notices warning of the arbitrary removal of disabled parking bays around Palmeira and Adelaide; a public notice published in the Argus on 18th December announced that those notices had been withdrawn – a triumph for all those who had lobbied for this outcome; well done !
